LW: I grew up in the beautiful county of Dorset where I went to school. I studied dentistry at Guy’s Hospital and then had a very broad general professional training working initially in community, followed by hospital posts in maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine, prosthetics, restorative dentistry, periodontology and paediatric dentistry. I completed my postgraduate orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital whilst also working evenings and weekends in general practice in Blackheath. I then returned to my alma mater as a lecturer in orthodontics, involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. I have been a consultant at Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) in East Grinstead for the last 25 years, where I have developed a particular interest in orthognathic surgery, sleep apnoea and the management of complex cases in both children and adults.
