YG: I was born in the UK (Kent), my parents are Indian who were born in Kenya. They came to the UK in 1957 to go to university. Growing up, I originally wanted to be a teacher (I wanted a red pen!) and as a teenager lirted with the idea of doing music professionally as I sang, played the piano and lute. I grew up in Kent and then trained at Guys UMDS, which is now part of King’s College London.

What or who made you choose a career in dentistry and orthodontics?
