The Big Brutal Swim

12 AUGUST 2018 LLANBERIS, NORTH WALES

PROMOTED EVENT

The Big Brutal Swim will take place at the stunning, glacially formed Llyn Padarn in Llanberis, North Wales. The lake is known for being the sixth deepest in Wales and the course is a 1.25km lap

The distances available are 2.5km, 5km and 10km and there is an aid station on the lakeside providing hot and cold drinks and snacks. This is a super friendly, low key event. Great for swimmers of all abilities, from channel swimmers in training to first timers.

Every swimmer gets a finisher t-shirt.

Also, this is held at the same venue as The Brutal Extreme Triathlons and therefore great preparation for that event.

About Outdoor Swimmer

FIT FOR LIFE One of the great things about outdoor swimming is that it can be done by people of all ages. Whether it is wild swimming with your kids or entering races in the super vet category, swimming can be part of your life whatever your age. Our July issue has a Fit for Life theme. As we swim through the ages we look at how we can encourage more young people to swim in the open water, how we should adapt our training as we get older, how one school transformed its swimming lessons and how we can use strength training to combat age-related muscle loss. Plus, we meet swimmers of all ages to discuss their relationship with swimming outdoors.
