Patchwork and Quilting  |  Apr-18
"The April issue is very much a spring-looking-forward-to-summer kind of issue so we have lots of bright and airy projects for you. Midsummer Dreams is a pretty floral pieced quilt made modern by using a low volume and grey background. Ripples in the Sand is definitely summery. The Picture Frame Quilt features simple piecing and appliqué. We celebrate Easter with some cute Easter Bunting that would also suit as decoration for a nursery. If foundation piecing is your thing, or you fancy giving it a go but find it a bit daunting, the Golden Glow quilt features fairly simple foundation pieced blocks. We finish off the Hazy Lazy Summer Quilt we started in the March issue and reach month 4 in our Mushroom Village series quilt.
Helen went to visit The Patchwork Basket for Let’s Go Shopping recently, one of her favourite parts of working on P&Q I think! We visit Sheila Dalgleish’s latest exhibition North and South and also take a look behind the scenes at the London Cloth Company and for a bit of quilt inspiration we take a look at the work of David Bomberg which was on display recently. Vendulka Battais tells us about her First and Last quilts and we find out more about Contemporary Quilters West in Introducing.
