PC Pilot  |  Issue 79: May-June 2012
Hello and a very warm welcome to another packed issue of PC Pilot. As usual we have news, reviews, tutorials and features – encompassing both flight sim hardware and software.
Reviews
• Microsoft Flight is our lead review in this edition – It may not be the answer to everyone’s needs, but it could be the start of a new era of flight simulation.
Aircraft review highlights include:
• ‘Le’ Embraer Phenom 100 from Feelthere - An excellent blend of features and avionics coupled with great handling characteristics make the Phenom an ideal personal flight simulation transport aircraft.
• Piper Malibu PA-46 from Carenado - Windows XP with SP3 installed, Vista or 7 (32- or 64-Bit). Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX with SP1 and SP2 (or Acceleration Pack) installed. Pentium V/2GHz or similar – 2GB RAM – 512MB graphics card. 205 MB available hard disk space.
Scenery review highlights include:
• New Zealand South from Orbx - Orbx Full Terrain products are simply the best scenery add-ons currently available in Flight Simulation. If you have not yet seen this line of products, the natural diversity in NZSI presents a perfect opportunity.
Hardware review highlights include:
• X-Plane 10 from Aerosoft – X-Plane 10 is the most ambitious release of the franchise to date.
• SimCat 5 from RC Simulations – A new interface designed to help us break free from the dreaded mouse and keyboard.
