Life imitating art

A ll of these photos were taken in my home studio. As an artist and a photographer, I like to combine both mediums within my work and create photographs that resemble paintings. The reoccurring theme in this series is paintings that come to life. The greatest challenge with these pictures is coming up with a unique and creative idea, and then planning how to implement these thoughts into a photograph.

My graphic design experience with Photoshop enables me to create these surreal digital art pieces that spring to life. The process to craft these starts by painting a rough sketch on canvas, taking a picture of the sketch, and then, using Photoshop CC, I smoothly blend the model with the picture of the canvas and help the scene take on a life of its own. The idea was a great success and I decided to create a series out of this, titled Live Paintings. So far, I have completed roughly a dozen photographs within this series that I plan to constantly work on and expand. These photos are a quick peek into the series.
