• A task force set up by the European Commission (EC) will determine whether EU policies are fit to deal with the growing number of fintech companies that are claiming current regulations limit their ability to innovate and trade across borders. Speaking in mid-March, EC director general Olivier Guersent said the group would consider whether new licensing and passport rules were needed to level the playing field for fintech companies.
