Hospice nurse describes father’s spirit return
AN American hospice nurse who became famous on social media through ”normalising” the subject of passing on has published a book on the subject.
Influencing Death: Reframing Dying for Better Living is a memoir by Penny Hawkins Smith.
It provides an intimate insight to the last moments of patients’ lives told through the “raw and real human emotions and behaviours people have when life and death are hanging in the balance.”
Penny is open about her history as a recovering alcoholic and former drug addict; she knows what it means to change course and become a meaningful contributor to society. Through working with dying people, she found her purpose in life.
