Chris Baréz-Brown, the author of Wake Up!, has been writing a column for Psychologies for the last year, setting us weekly wake-up experiments, inspired by the people that he’s met over the years who have had the greatest energy and zest for life.
‘The experiments uncover the mystery of why some people have a twinkle in their eye, a smile on their face and a sense that anything is possible,’ he says. ‘It drags us out of autopilot, where we’re estimated to spend about 80 per cent of our lives, and helps us feel more connected, creative, happy and engaged.’
