Diane Kruger has established herself as an accomplished actress in both the US (The Bridge, Inglourious Basterds, Unknown and National Treasure), and Europe (Farewell, My Queen, and Joyeux Noel) and last year Kruger collected the best actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival for her bravura performance as a woman whose husband and son are killed in a right-wing terrorist attack in In The Fade.
Directed by German-Turkish film-maker Fatih Akin, In The Fade is the first project she’s tackled in her native German language, but it came at a di.cult time for Kruger – she had just ended her 10-year relationship with Canadian actor Joshua Jackson (The Affair) and was grieving the deaths of two family members.
