Wondabyne – Australia’s most unique station: The 2019 Challenge
Situated on the picturesque banks of Mullet Creek, 64km north of Sydney’s Central station, Wondabyne is the only station in Australia and one of few in the world that is inaccessible by road. In June this year, David McCafferty and his friend, Tyson, stayed overnight at the tiny isolated station, and saw some interesting workings pass by as he and Tyson both froze on the platform!

A June Long Weekend
The Western Australia Day Long Weekend falls right at the start of June and a week before the Queen’s Birthday long weekend is held interstate. The June long weekend in Perth is also when the local Australian Model Railway Association branch puts on its annual model railway exhibition at the Claremont Showgrounds. With his wife and son Josh, Phil Melling decided to make the trek down from Geraldton to Perth for the long weekend, hopefully seeing a few trains on their travels.

The Bundaberg and Maryborough area of the North Coast Line in Queensland
During mid- to late May this year, Mike Martin spent a week in the above area from Tiaro south of Maryborough to Yandaran, north of Bundaberg. This is an area often neglected by rail enthusiasts, except in the sugar cane season from around July to November/December. As Mike discovered, however, outside of the cane season there is still plenty to see in the Bundaberg and Maryborough area.
