THE Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway has appointed James Brett as its new general manager.
He will commence work on February 1, enabling a handover period with Charles Spencer who steps down on March 31 after six years in the job.
Mr Brett was a unanimous appointment following a process which saw 42 job applications. For the last six years he has been facilities and infrastructure manager at Derbyshire's Crich Tramway Village, the brand name for the National Tramway Museum.
