The proposed external styling of the Class 810 ‘Aurora’.
EAST Midlands Railway has released final details of the interior layout and seating for its Class 810‘Aurora’bi-mode fleet which are starting to be built by Hitachi, Newton Aycliffe.
Financed by Rock Rail, 33 fivecar sets are being constructed with the first sets due to enter service early in 2023.
Based on the Class 80x AT300 designs already in service, the Aurora sets are being seen as a completely new product as vehicles will be 24m long rather than the usual 26m. This will allow a 10-car train to fully fit into St Pancras station.
