VINTAGE Trains (VT) railtours may be best known for having a‘Castle’, ‘Hall’or even a pannier or two‘up front’, but this year the Tyseley-based operator is adding Class 20s to its charter programme.
Details of VT’s planned tours for 2021 were released in December (RM, January), with double-chimney‘Castle’ No. 7029 Clun Castle playing a prominent role, along with guest appearances from ‘Jubilee’No. 45596 Bahamas and ‘Princess Coronation’Pacific No, 6233 Duchess of Sutherland.
Notable departure
The programme includes familiar routes and new ground, as well as a welcome return for the‘Shakespeare Express’, but of particular note was the inclusion of two tours that will be worked by double-headed ‘20s’from the main line certified fleet owned by Michael Owen.
