THE Chasewater and Foxfield railways were both preparing to welcome back two of their popular 0-6-0STs during early May following the completion of respective 10-yearly overhauls.
On April 30 the NCB blue-liveried Hunslet 0-6-0ST Holly Bank No. 3 (3783/1953) successfully passed its steam test at Chasewater in front of the boiler inspector, paving the way for a return to traffic.
The loco’s boiler was overhauled by Locomotive Maintenance Services in Loughborough, and had actually passed its out-of-frames steam test back in June 2019.
The boiler was returned to the loco’s frames at Chasewater, but then the coronavirus struck and the rebuild was inevitably delayed.
