WORK to raise a bridge on the Cambrian Line which has been repeatedly flooded is expected to be completed in late June.
The £3.6 million project aims to resolve a problem dating back over 30 years, which has seen large sections of the route between Mid Wales and Shrewsbury cut off during bad weather as a result of Black Bridge, near Machynlleth, being overwhelmed by rising water from the River Dulas.
The line will be closed until June 28 while the bridge is raised by a metre and the track reprofiled.
