FRENCH Railways (SNCF) began operating its‘OuiGo’ low cost high speed trains in Spain on May 10, offering services between Madrid and Barcelona using modified four TGV Duplex double deck TGVs.
In the next year 10 moreTGVs will be added to the Spanish OuiGo fleet along with services from Madrid to Valencia, Alicante, Cordoba, Seville and Malaga.
Spanish national operator RENFE also plans to start its low cost high speed service branded‘Avlo’ using purple liveried Class 112 AVE trains that have been converted to the new ‘Avlo’specification with 20% more seating than before on June 23, and has already announced plans to expand the service adding the Madrid to Seville route from 2022.
