AFTER a lengthy period of closure due to Covid-19 lockdowns and following the death of its founder Bill Best on April 9 last year, the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway held an Open Day on May 2.
With the line now running under the guidance of Bill’s eldest son, Bill Best Jnr, O&K 0-4-0WT Eigiau, Decauville 0-4-2ST Victory, Baguley-Drewry 3775/1983 4wDH Bredgar, Schoma CHL-30G 5239/1991 Jenny, and Andrew Barclay 0-4-0DM 765/1988 MoD No. NG54 Milstead operated goods trains and provided shunting demonstrations.
No passenger rides were offered due to Covid-19 restrictions but will hopefully be available at the Open Day planned to take place on Sunday, June 6.
