THE Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of May saw phases of work completed on major projects in Network Rail’s North West & Central region.
More than 100 precast concrete beams were lifted over the West Coast Main Line to create a deck for a new railway flyover for the East West Rail project at Bletchley.
Track upgrades took place on the WCML between Euston and Milton Keynes and Preston and Penrith, as well as on the Cumbrian Coast route, where Siddick Bridge at the Port of Workington was also removed and replaced with a new structure.
The deck of the new Bletchley Flyover takes shape above the West Coast Main Line in early May.
