HAVING reopened the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Beddgelert (RM, May), Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway trains between Porthmadog and Beddgelert commenced on May 30.
After remaining closed through 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Vale of Rheidol Railway restarted passenger operations on May 24 while the Brecon Mountain Railway hoped to reopen on July 1.
The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum at the Talyllyn Railway's Tywyn Wharf fully reopened on May 17 following Covid-19 safety work aided by grants totalling £49,630 which covered installing a new picture window facing Neptune Road and the employment of staff to supplement volunteer attendants.
The Corris Railway's new carriage No. 23 entered service on May 30, when the line reopened after not operating during 2020.
