■ THE Corris Railway has joined the Great Little Trains of Wales (GLToW) marketing consortium. Formed in 1970, GLToW now has 12 member lines. Purchase of a £15

■ KIRKLEES Light Railway was rebranded Whistlestop Valley from July 17. The change of name appears to primarily relate to the 15in gauge line’s base at Clayton West, the rebranding announcement saying that “the Kirklees Light Railway brand isn’t disappearing altogether – it remains for the trains and the line.”
■ FAIRBOURNE Railway’s appeal to finance replacing the wheelsets of Curwen 2-6-2T Yeo (RM, July) has raised sufficient cash to enable placing a contract for the job. The old wheelsets were delivered to the selected supplier for detail checking on June 22. Hopefully Yeo could be back in service for August, although more funds are needed to complete the work.
