THE 7¼in/5in gauge Wythall Miniature Railway (WMR) is operated by Elmdon Miniature Engineering Society (EMES) at the Transport Museum Wythall (TMW), Worcestershire. A running day on August 21 features scale model BR standard gauge locos.
These include an LMS ‘Black Five’, a GWR ‘King’, a dock tank, a 'Prairie' tank and a Southern Railway Q Class 0-6-0, plus others.
Details of TMW opening times and admission prices can be found at www.wythall.org.uk, with railway information at the website www. wythallsteamrail.com
The WMR normally uses narrow gaugestyle steam and diesel locos. Mainstays are Nefyn, a ‘Remus’-type 0-6-0T+T which is the latest addition to stock, and Sandwell Lady, a Hunslet-type 0-4-0ST+T built by EMES members when at Sandwell College in the 1980s.
