A WASH AND BRUSH-UP: One of the youngest trams to be preserved is former Manchester Metrolink Firema-built T-68 No. 1023. A member of the original fleet constructed for the system in 1991/92, it has been preserved by the Manchester Transport Museum Society, which operates Heaton Park Tramway, but currently resides at Crewe Heritage Centre. Mid-September saw volunteers giving it a clean, inside and out.
