THE 400 Series Preservation Group (400SPG), based on the East Kent Railway (EKR), has taken delivery of two further SR EMU vehicles. Both were privately owned and stored on the Dartmoor Railway. They were not connected with the RMS Locotec sale, but had to be removed from there on closure of the site as a storage facility.
Former 4-CIG driving trailer DTC No. 76747 arrived at Shepherdswell on July 29. It is here for a short stay for cosmetic attention before moving on to Rampart Engineering, Barrow Hill for refurbishment. It will go there when MBSO No. 62364 is completed and returned to Kent. They will form part of 400SPG’s battery-powered EMU project, ‘Batteries Included’.
