HISTORY was made on the Dean Forest Railway (DFR) in December, with the inaugural visit of a Class 360 EMU and the first Class 37 working to Parkend in the preservation era. The move was in connection with a BBC television production.
Rail Operations Group (ROG) used Class 37 No. 37510 Orion to haul the unit to the DFR and to provide power and traction during the filming.
The Class 37 provided suitable traction to work with the EMU – including air brakes and appropriate coupling adapters.
