WHR carriage derails in Aberglaslyn Pass
WELSH Highland Railway services on December 18 were disrupted when a carriage derailed in the Aberglaslyn Pass. The train was a morning service returning from Beddgelert to Porthmadog, the incident occurring just after crossing Bryn y Felin bridge. The derailed carriage was the third from the Beddgelert end. The train was split, leaving four carriages in the Pass, the passengers being taken on to Porthmadog in the front section of the train. The rest of the afternoon’s services were cancelled with Hibberd 4wDM Upnor Castle recovering the four carriages from Aberglaslyn Pass the following day.
