ENGINEERING staff from Tyne & Wear Metro operator Nexus have completed a thorough inspection and survey of overhead line equipment on the tramway at Beamish Museum.
The assessments were carried out by employees during a volunteering day and at no cost to the museum. Road Rail Mobile Elevated Work Platforms and other specialist plant and equipment from Nexus was used.
“We would like to thank Nexus very much for coming in and helping us with this work – it is very much appreciated,” said Matt Ellis, keeper of transport at Beamish Museum. “It is a routine thing we would have to get round to each bit eventually ourselves, but the fact that we can do the entire system in one day makes it quite an easy thing.”
