TWO sets of unused Talgo 8 trains built for the US state of Wisconsin for Milwaukee-Chicago services but never used due to political obstruction by the State’s Governor in 2010, have been sold for use in Nigeria. Talgo owned the trains after Wisconsin failed to pay for them and they have been stored in the USA for a decade. The trains will be used for commuter services in Lagos on the southern section of the country’s new standard gauge railway between Lagos and Agbado.
