TRAINS to the seaside resort of Santa Cruz south of San Francisco/San Jose may stop running following proposals to close the railway line and potentially convert it into a bike trail.
The ‘Beach Train’ has been operated by private company Santa Cruz, Big Trees and Pacific Railway from Felton since 1987, using part of the now closed line from San Jose which connects in Santa Cruz with a branch owned by local governments linking the town to the rail network in Watsonville.
