IRISH Transport Minister Eamon Ryan confirmed that there are plans to complete the relaying of the Limerick to Ballybrophy line with continuously welded rail in 2022.
Appearing in front of the Transport Committee on January 26, Mr Ryan confirmed the extra funding saying: “We need to invest in the Ballybrophy line, which is being retracked at present and we are going to put extra funding into that.”
Mr Ryan went onto say that the strategic rail review undertaken by Arup will answer the question of what role does the line, along with the Waterford-Limerick Junction line, play?
