GBRF
GB RAILFREIGHT says a recently launched service for Brett Aggregates brings an opportunity to operate further movements from the firm’s terminals in future.
The first GBRf train ran from Brett’s Newhaven Marina collection terminal to Thorney Mill, West Drayton, on January 19. It consisted of 17 wagons carrying around 1350 tonnes of aggregate for construction projects in the South East.
It is almost two years since Network Rail, in partnership with Brett and Newhaven Port Authority, completed modifications and refurbishment work to allow the line in the vicinity of the former Newhaven Marine station to reopen to freight traffic, with DB Cargo operating the first trains.
