THE Northern Line’s Bank branch, between Kennington and Moorgate, reopened on schedule on May 16, following a 17-week closure.
Passengers were thanked for their patience during the shutdown, which allowed the completion of work, including connection of the new southbound tunnel to the route and creation of a new, wider southbound platform for Northern Line services, as well as a concourse, which is situated in the area previously occupied by the old southbound platform.
Testing
The reopening follows extensive testing, which began over the Easter weekend. Multiple journeys were made through the new tunnel and southbound platform using two trains.
