LOCAL SET: WR ‘Manor’ 4-6-0 No. 7828 Odney Manor climbs the gradient at Nornvis Bridge on the approach to Crowcombe on the West Somerset Railway with a Steam Recreations charter on April 25. With three carriages in mixed maroon and chocolate and cream formation, the aim was recreate the feel of a local train of the early 1960s on the Cambrian lines.

Great Central Railwaybased LMS ‘8F’ No. 48305 was a welcome visitor to the Mid-Hants Railway for its Spring Steam Gala. The 2-8-0 passes a Permanent Way hut just east of Arlesford, during a Mad Hants photo charter on April 26. The train includes vans restored by the railway’s wagon
group.
