FORMER Sproxton Ironstone Quarry Hunslet 0-6-0ST Hastings (469/1888) returned to the Kent & East Sussex Railway in late May, having left the line 20 years ago. The locomotive first came to the K&ESR in 1964 straight from industry, and did steam there at that time, but did not turn a wheel again under its own power until the completion of its recent restoration. It is pictured here in full K&ESR lined blue livery arriving at Tenterden with a test train on May 26, shortly after its arrival from the Chasewater Railway.
