POLISH manufacturer Pesa has won a contract for up to 23 new trams for the Estonian capital to replace its fleet of older vehicles and to provide additional vehicles for the new line planned between Tallinn airport and the new Rail Baltica standard gauge passenger terminal, which is due open later this decade. Pesa will supply its ‘Twist’ design, widely used in Poland – with eight trams ordered for delivery in 2024 and an option agreed for another 15.
