THE Bluebell Railway is to celebrate 150 years of ‘Terrier’ locomotives on July 29-31 with an enthusiast and family-friendly event. Three of the LBSCR’s 0-6-0Ts are due to be in action.
Fresh from overhaul, resident No. 72 Fenchurch is set to star alongside No. 70 Poplar from the Kent and East Sussex Railway and No. W11 Newport from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
Newport is due to cross the Solent on July 25. Fenchurch’s chassis returned to Sheffield Park in late May following an extensive overhaul at Statfold Engineering – the loco is due to emerge in its original Stroudley’s Improved Engine Green livery.
Meanwhile, No. 55 Stepney will remain on display in the SteamWorks! exhibition at Sheffield Park station where visitors can access the footplate.
