‘WHISTLER’ IN THE SUNSHINE: Pioneer Class 40 No. D200 (40122) had a rare moment in the sunshine outside the National Railway Museum in York on July 4, when a shunt of locos inside the Great Hall meant the ‘40’ had to be temporarily parked outside following its recent spell on display on the turntable.

NORTH YORKS STAR: The Diesel and Electric Preservation Group’s immaculate-looking Class 47 No. 47077 North Star leaves Grosmont Tunnel on July 18, working its first passenger train in more than five years. The loco had taken over the 1T11/10.00 Whitby to Pickering at Grosmont. It is on hire to the NYMR for two years.
