■ RECENTLY restored 1894-built Manx Electric Railway (MER) Trailer No. 19 (later renumbered 36) will be launched back into service on July 23, after an absence of 52 years. Its restoration was undertaken by volunteers and MER staff. For the launch event, during the MER’s 130th anniversary year, it will be paired with MER Car No. 7 to re-create the 1894 opening day of the MER to Laxey.
■ BORD na Mona-built 4wDH No. LM396 is receiving a full overhaul and repaint in Ireland before going to the Isle of Man Steam Railway later this year. Loco LM399 is forming a donor for parts required in the overhaul.
