BRIDGE’S FINISHING TOUCHES: Following consultation with people who live in the area a facing of local ironstone will feature in the design of the HS2 viaduct over the Oxford Canal near Wormleighton in Warwickshire. Composed of three concrete spans, which will carry the railway a total of 62.5 metres (205 feet) over the canal, towpath and a country lane, an ironstone finish will be used for the piers and abutments which face the towpath and passing boats.
