A £161 million project to expand Oxford station to provide a new western entrance and a new platform will start in April.
In the first phase, the busy Botley Road will be closed to cars and buses from April 11 until the end of October. This is to undertake preliminary work ahead of replacing the Botley Road bridge next year and divert the services of 11 different utility providers. During the closure, access for cyclists and pedestrian will continue.
The target is to replace the bridge over four days in
August 2024 and undertake further highway improvements, including lowering of the carriageway.
