CENTRE STAGE FOR No. 78: Easter Sunday will see Wallasey No. 78 take part in what is billed as a “once in a lifetime commemoration event” at Wirral Transport Museum, celebrating 100 years of Wallasey Corporation Transport. The double-deck car, built in 1920 by Brush, was the last tram to be constructed for the Corporation. It will be part of the event, along with all surviving members of the Corporation’s bus fleet. No. 78 is pictured on Shore Road, Birkenhead on October 4, 2015, during the annual Wirral Bus & Tram Show.

BRASS fittings for Chester No. 4 have been polished ahead of being drilled and machined to prepare them for installation.
The team involved in the restoration of the city’s last surviving electric tram at the former Hooton Park airfield near Ellesmere Port have made and fitted steps to the platforms at both ends of the car and are refining the fit of the concertina gates.
On the car’s lower saloon, ceiling panels have been fitted in order to determine where holes need to be drilled for the light fittings and positioning of the lining out.
