After being withdrawn in May 1960, first-built ‘Castle’ No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle was donated to the Science Museum in London, moving there in June 1961 after a ceremony at Paddington station. It is pictured on display there in March 1969 but, since the end of 1999, it can now be found back at its Swindon birthplace in the Steam museum.
