TAKING SHAPE AT SHEFFIELD PARK: The project to recreate a BR Standard ‘2MT’ 2-6-2T at the Bluebell Railway reached a milestone on July 11. Constructed by Kent & East Sussex Railway-based 4253 Locomotive Company at Rolvenden, the new side tanks were delivered to the Bluebell’s headquarters at Sheffield Park and lifted onto the frames. Numbered 84030, the loco is being converted from BR ‘2MT’ 2-6-0 No. 78059, which was acquired from Barry scrapyard without a tender. TONY SULLIVAN
