A NINE-day closure of the West Coast Main Line (WCML) through the Trent Valley between July 15-23 has allowed Network Rail engineering teams to undertake a variety of work as part of ongoing improvements.
An £8.5m investment at Colwich Junction will see the installation of 2km (1.2 miles) of new track on 3300 sleepers, while work will continue on a major scheme to renew some of the signalling system in the Trent Valley which will go live in 2024.
