OLD OAK RE-CREATED: Doing a very passable impression of London’s Old Oak Common depot in the 1970s, this line-up of former Western Region diesel-hydraulic power was staged at Bury Baron Street, East Lancashire Railway, on June 28, by the 3P20 Parcels Group. From the left are Class 35 ‘Hymek’ No. D7076, Class 42 ‘Warships’ Nos. D832 Onslaught and D821 Greyhound, and Class 52 ‘Western’ No. D1041 Western Prince. All are based at the ELR except No. D821, which was visiting from the Severn Valley Railway for the line’s diesel gala at the end of June (see also page 78).
