Two main line locos appeared at the KWVR’s diesel gala on June 25, when Class 37 No. 37418 and Class 50 No. 50008 Thunderer top-andtailed the Branch Line Society’s ‘Eyre Valley Explorer’ from and return to Derby. No. 50008 ran along the branch, after swapping from the excursion stock to the visiting ScotRail set and is seen beside the River Worth at Damems.

THE Keighley & Worth Valley Railway staged its biggest diesel gala for some time on June 23-25. Visiting locos were Crewe Diesel Preservation Group’s Class 47 No. 47712 Lady Diana Spencer, with LSL’s push-pull set in ScotRail livery, Class 14 No. D9520 from the Mid-Norfolk Railway, Class 37s Nos. 37401 from DRS and 37403 courtesy Scottish Railway Preservation Society – plus HST power cars Nos. 43468 and 43480 from RailAdventure. A bonus on the Sunday was the arrival of the branch Line Society’s ‘Eyre Valley Explorer’ with Class 37 No. 37418 and Class 50 No. 50008 Thunder in Hanson & Hall livery, both later working separately on the branch to Oxenhope.
Resident locos in use were Class 20 No. 20031, Class 37 No. 37075, ex-BR 0-6-0DM No. D2511, ex-Mersey Docks & Harbour Board 0-6-0DM No. D32 Huskisson, and experimental English Electric 0-6-0DE No. D0226 Vulcan. ‘Pacers’ Nos. 143625 and 144011 were displayed in Haworth Yard where the shed was open for tours.
