COMING UP WITH THE GOODS: Talyllyn Railway’s Fletcher, Jennings 0-4-0WT No. 2 Dolgoch approaches Ty Mawr road bridge with a decidedly unusual goods train on July 2, during the line’s Anything Goes weekend. The load comprised two large scale models of Dolgoch on the wagon behind the loco and a Morris 1000 car.

MOSELEY Railway Trust (MRT) is planning to hold a ‘ListerFest’ event at Apedale Valley Light Railway over May 18/19, 2024. The announcement not only gives advance notice of the date but forms an invitation to owners of anything made by R ALister & Co of Dursley, Gloucestershire, especially Rail Trucks, to contact operations@avlr.org.uk to register interest in attending.
R ALister & Co initially produced small internal combustion engines, subsequently branching into production of vehicles, initially the road-based Auto-Truck and then the Rail Truck, which used these engines. All kinds of Lister products will be showcased, but especially Rail Trucks to operate on the 2ft gauge lines at Apedale.
MRT will kick-start the line-up with four operational Lister locomotives in the collection at Apedale, including newly restored Lister 52031/1960 which was launched into service during Apedale’s June 24/25 ‘Anything Goes’ event.
