THEVale of Rheidol Railway (VoR) has confirmed that it has been negotiating the acquisition of the Brecon Mountain Railway (BMR).
This merger will not only be a milestone for both railways which would safeguard the future of the BMR, but represents something of history turning a full circle.
The nominal 2ft gauge (actually 1ft 11¾ins) BMR was developed by the lateTony Hills, initially with Arthur Bailey and subsequently joined by the late Peter Rampton, on part of the trackbed of the standard gauge Brecon &MerthyrTydfil
