GBRf Peterborough sidings open
SIDINGS have been opened on the north side of GB Railfreight’s Peterborough yard to connect its £5.75 million maintenance hub to the rail network.
The company says several new sets of points have been installed and the track has been slewed to create five intermodal length sidings which can be reached from the north and south. There is also capacity for spare wagons.
“The new sidings at the north end of our yard are a huge step forward in bringing our maintenance hub into operation,” said GBRf chief executive John Smith.
“This will enable us to run even more intermodal services, allowing our current and future customers to move an even wider range of goods by rail.”
