SOME single fares went up on Sheffield Supertram from November 1, as part of wider rises on public transport in South Yorkshire aimed at helping to sustain bus services.
Unlike the single fare bus cap, which is a national Department for Transport-subsidised scheme that continues until the end of next year, the £2.00 single fare on the Supertram had been funded by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. The Supertram cap rose to £2.80, a price which is fixed until November 30 next year.
Concessionary child single fares for holders of Zoom Under 16 and Zoom 16-18 Travel passes increased from 80p to £1.00.
Single fares for users of Zoom Beyond 18-21 passes rose from 80p to £2.00, with return fares £4.00.
With a poppy attached to the cab side, ‘Bringing People Together’ Pride-liveried Siemens-Duewag Sheffield Supertram No. 120 is seen at Cathedral with a Malin Bridge-bound service on October 27.
